Domada is a conceptual rug line that reimagines animal hides for interiors. Cleverly reshaping contemporary, vintage and antique rugs, Domada transforms these pieces into one-of-a-kind works of art. The hides function as both floor coverings and wall hangings, and a complementary pillow line is crafted from excess material. These serve as stand-alone or coordinating accents to the artful hides.
“Domada marries two seemingly opposing aesthetics,” says Founder and Designer Katherine Stevens. “The name translates to ‘domesticated’ or ‘tamed,’ and we seek to elevate the hide into a rich tapestry while imbuing traditional Oriental and tribal carpets with new life.”
Domada leverages global connections in Morocco, India and Turkey to create a collection of hand-woven rugs made by the world’s best craftspeople.
